Baffle for Motosickle509 viewsThe Vance & Hines pipe that came on the bike when I purchased it did not have a baffle/muffler. Let me tell you, that thing could wake someone in the neighborhood next to mine. So, as cheap as I am, and to see if I could do it, I decided to make my own baffle, using the metal shop at work and some extra pipe laying around. I bought some fender washers, chopped em' in half, cut some slits in the 2" pipe, drilled a buttload of holes and had a buddy weld it up, because I have no grace when it comes to that.

Baffle for Motosickle (final result)557 viewsSo, after having the washer halves welded in place, an adapter section (about 3.25 inches in diameter) was welded onto end of the main section. I then wrapped it in high temp fiberglass, inserted it into the Vance & Hines end section, bolted it in place and TADA! A toned down, but still meaty sounding pipe. I'm not sure if this helped with MPG. I'm presuming it did. I'm pretty happy with the result overall. Thanks to the guy who posted a tutorial like this on the net.

Motosickle - Front 3 quarter789 viewsNotice the SUV (Jeep Cherokee) in the back. Ironic, but tells the story basically. 19mpg vs. 47mpg. Hmmm. Granted, my bike does not have airbags or side impact bars. Which is why I only use it to go back and forth to work. I think I may change the seat out, but keep the King and Queen for when my wife will someday join me on a ride.

Motosickle - Rear/Top681 viewsJust another view. I'm probably gonna change out the handlebars. I think the previous owner just bent a piece of conduit...at least that's what it looks like. The bars don't clear the tank, so there are dings pretty evident on the left hand side. Another small project during the winter season.

Motosickle - Rear 3 quarter854 viewsI think the stock taillamp is a bit goofy and may change it out with a slimmer one someday. But for now, it's purely functional.

Motosickle - Side943 viewsFirst bike. 11,300 miles on it upon purchase from Ebay. Was listed as "works PERFECT." Lesson learned. However, it's up and running a month after buying and have enjoyed the bike thus far. Needs a few bits modified/replaced, but runs strong and is good on fuel. Approx. 47 mpg. Hope to paint it over the winter season. Will post update.

Motosickle - Other Side905 viewsForgot to mention the Vance & Hines pipe on the other side. Had to tone it down a bit with a handmade baffle. It was very mean before, now it sounds nice and meaty. See pic for finished baffle.
